[Heavy sigh] It's so unfair that Alittlexis is cute... man who has committed infinite wrongs softens his storyteller through baby photos </4I gave him a Build-A-Bear dog :D I always wanted to get a Build-A-Bear as a kid but they were expensive :/ There used to be this show that aired on 22 (that's the Aussie kids channel) with mini-episodes of kids going out and doing fun things, and one of the activities they did was go through a Build-A-Bear workshop. I lived vicariously through that episode pffft
I like how Build-A-Bear is something that requires multiple hands, if that makes sense? I'm imagining that a year or so after the village adopts Alexis, they treat him to an outing to get a lil teddy. Someone helps him reach the body shape that he wants placed high up on a rack -- another one lifts him up so he can see his dog getting filled. They all do a little wish on the heart, and record warm words of encouragement into the voicebox before sewing up the dog. It's a gentle memory for everyone involved.
(Years later, while the Build-A-Bear is still well cared for, it has also run out of battery. Alexis hasn't heard the tinny voice of his village in a long time.)Oct 14, 2026
