[OCtober] the stars on your ceiling
omggg hiii luci >///<I thought it might be fun to do lil portraits of the TheSoS cast :D I've been trying to develop everyone a bit more visually, and I feel like a couple of them look noticeably-enough different to their last appearance :]

Some Luci changes!
• You can kinda see it with the blinky I made of it a while back (which. I haven't shared the actual blinkies yet, but the still art is here!): I've tried to fatten up its face a bit :] I've also really been enjoying drawing the cheekbones on faces recently bahaha -- I definitely need to look at how they sit on all sorts of faces more closely at some point, but it's enjoyable at the moment.
• I've changed her hair colour! I was sticking some glow-in-the-dark dinosaurs on my bed that a lovely friend gifted to me, and it made me think about Lucien with phosphorescent hair (especially since a lot of phosphorescent things typically have that green hue to them -- which isn't the same shade as Luci's previous green, but is still green nonetheless).
• I've also changed the colour of their star trail. I've been following discussions of vitiligo representation and how animal print patterns can be harmful, even without the ill intent that makes it derogatory towards those with vitiligo and other skin differences -- and I'm not sure if making their star trail gold does enough to avoid those harmful tropes honestly :/ Figuring out how to utilise these design ideas of humanoid animal hybrids without leaning into reductive imagery is a process, and it's one that I'll need to reiterate on a couple of times, I think.
• I attempted to give it acne scars! I think I did a bad job of rendering it honestly lmao but it's something that I feel like it would totally have (+ so many people have it IRL too!), and I've neglected that feature on every design I've made so far :v I'm quite endeared to how the scars look ajdkskd I just need to figure out how to depict the not-smooth skin that comes along with it all in a style that works for me bahahaOct 2, 2026

Ooh this looks so cool!! I think the gold look nice with the green and pinks/purples. Also, about the acne scars, I think they’re a nice inclusion! More OCs should have little details like that :)
