Updated Genesis ref!

Genesis (he/they), sometimes known as Gene, is Rumor and Overlord’s head butler. He was crafted with love (and some frustration) by Rumor, with scraps from the human’s realm that were harvested by Abyssal scavengers and stars from the Dreamscape. Rumor designed Genesis to be powered by these stars; this meant that he previously had to venture into the Dreamscape to harvest these, until Overlord found a way to make Xyr own stars with Xyr magic.

Over his cycles of work, Genesis has witnessed revolutions, petty squabbles amongst the Gods (with their own creation being the source of some of these), and the birth of Overlord, perhaps one of his fondest memories, despite how gruesome that experience was for poor Rumor. Genesis considers Overlord almost like a son, so when Rumor had to step away to rest, he promised to stay by Overlord’s side as the young demigod adjusted to Xyr new role as ruler.
This does not mean that he agrees with all of Rumor’s decisions, nor all of Overlord’s.

There is a part of Genesis that desperately wants to tell the tales of what he’s witnessed, the joy and rage of it all. He knows that he will one day have to leave Abyssia; as much as he doesn’t want to leave Overlord alone in all of this, they know that this day will come sooner than later.



Genesis is a hard character for me to put together lore for; why would a robot be in the Abyss? (the funny answer is that Rumor was simply having a crafty moment, but that really oversimplifies things...) Why would he be so devoted, yet so conflicted? Why would he stay?
I’m too attached to the idea of Genesis being in this story, so I will try my hardest to carve him in!
I gave them a more casual outfit as well; even Gene gets a break sometimes. Occasionally.
