OC-tober 8: hobby

Jo does horseback riding
First that came to mind was Ant with skateboarding, but since I’ve drawn that multiple times I wanted to do something else. So I might have already mentioned it somewhere or maybe it hasnt really left my head except her phone background in the comic pages, but I’ve long had the idea that Jo does horse riding; wether it’s competitively or not I don’t know, I should put some rosettes in her room if so.

Anyway, idk what happened with parts of it, it came out so bad.. especially her face was hard to do; you know how hard it is to get the duck lips across without it looking weird?? She’s supposed to kiss the horse’s mule anyway.. Well I just don’t have time or patience to do a proper coloured pencil piece either so the colouring is so so, and it’s not my most confident medium but I just wanted to change it up and not use brushmarkers for all of these prompts.

I adore how the horse looks, and I definitely thought the character was nuzzling/kissing the horse so mayhap you are being harsher than necessary on yourself

that being said kissing is ridiculously hard to draw and I very much resonate with your frustration with it. Why must lips do this to us
