The BelltowerThis is a snippet of the King’s primary residence: an old gothic belltower, from which the bell has been removed. Historically it used to serve as Scotham’s city hall, before it was quietly bought up and renovated by the King.
Most of the ground floor has been converted into a ballroom, where the King hosts guests on occasion. A grand piano can usually be found in this corner, from which the pianist can observe the room. (I’m going to draw that piano and pianist in later but I wanted to show off the background so far!)
Upstairs, his office, to which only select trusted associates are invited, can be found, along with his even more private living quarters. Secret passages allow Pawns working in the building to navigate efficiently and out of sight, which they refer to as “en passant”.Mar 25, 2023

Interesting choice of colors. Is the color scheme red and black or is the orange sun light distorting the white parts? Either way, I love the unsettling vibes in this piece. It might even be haunted.
