I’ll see you on the moon 
Updated Overlord ref! 
Overlord (Xe/Xem and He/Him) is the current ruler of Abyssia, demigod of the Abyss, and Mother Rumor’s first, and so far only, son.
Overlord was raised under a different name, and was brought up by the Major Gods of the Abyss to be more wrathful than Xyr (relatively) gentle Mother. He is more like His Mother than the Gods would like Xem to be, and Overlord eventually came to realize this name did not suit Xem. Xe changed His name to Overlord, hoping to still invoke respect and fear into those who face Him; the Gods, for the most part, considered this an act of disrespect, and have refused to help Overlord ever since.
Now ruling over Abyssia almost entirely on Xyr own, Xe has quickly grown strained, Xyr patience thinning and His resentment towards Rumor and the Gods growing. To the God’s amusement, Overlord has become more prone to rash decisions, breakdowns, and rage. Things have only gotten worse since His sudden breakup with Xyr former partner Bluff, and the ensuing… Drama, shall we say, of the events afterwards. The guilt builds up in Xem every waking moment, and the Gods cannot help but wonder how long it’ll be until Xe drowns in it.

I love this updated reference; I find it kinda wild comparing the last Overlord ref to this one, my art has changed a bit more than I realized, I think, and I really love how I draw Overlord now… Xe was always one of my hardest characters to draw, but now I can consistently draw Him in a way I love!
I’m curious and anxious to see how people perceive Overlord in this story I’m working on. Overlord has done some (fantastical, yet still inherently cruel) things, which I don’t want to spoil here, and maybe I’m biased because I made Xem (when I was so young!!!), but I love Him as a character and I hope others will too. He is not inherently evil, at least I wouldn’t say so, but Xe is complicated. He’s just like me fr fr /hj
Unrelated but I love giving Ovie team-themed outfits for Art Fight, and I’m hoping to continue that tradition every year! I’m kinda in love with the comedy/tragedy one, I probably could have incorporated more of the team themes into it but still!!Jun 30, 2026
