Day 9 - 12 ‘lonely diner’ hiyoponyo’s hiyoctober (I’ve fallen very behind with the prompts I’ll do what I can) I interpreted the prompt as lonely dinner instead of diner. It was a bit easier to come up with an idea. It made me think of Mafuyu from Project Sekai. Mafuyu has a rocky relationship with her mother. Her mother wants her to be the best she can be at all times. I haven’t finished reading Mafuyu’s story. But I know she associates herself with the fish in the aquarium. Maybe it’s because they are free; free to do whatever they want. Whereas she has to be someone she is not. The fish is meant to represent Mafuyu herself being alone on the plate her aquarium (the water) being destroyed. And her mother standing behind her menacingly. The song choice heavily relates to her storyline of trying to be perfect all the time. She feels the pressure of trying to be her best for her mother the most. Which leaves her such an empty state.
