The only time I've ever seen a hummingbird was years ago in Seminoe State Park in Wyoming. I was walking across some hills when all of a sudden a hummingbird flies right in front of my face like Tom Cruise doing a tower fly-by in Top Gun. Scared the crap out of me. Especially when I realized that had I been a step head, he would quite literally have speared me in the temple with that dart-like beak. And how on earth, when they eventually found me, would anyone have contacted my family and explained to them that of all the wild animals in Wyoming, I'm the only idiot in history who managed to get killed by a hummingbird?
