Cipher Academy Welcomes All!!

Cipher Academy is a secret school/organization entrusted by the government with the task to teach, train and guide teens with supernatural abilities. To the general public, this school is nothing more than a boarding school, but inside they're helping the next generation of shadow helpers to grow strong! Cipher Academy: - Beginner students are the ones who've been in the school for up to 3 years. They are heavily monitored and require a mandatory student buddy (an advanced student who'll help them) - Intermediate students have been in the school from 4 to 6 years. They have more freedom to use their abilities and no longer need a student buddy - Advanced students have been in the school from 7 to 9 years. They start training to work in the outside world with other shadow helpers (superhumans who secretly work to help and save others). They are responsible for a beginner student as means to help them become more responsible (You can visit my Cipher Academy Collection for more info) Rules of the Challenge: - Create a new OC to enter Cipher Academy - Your OC needs a supernatural ability, such as super strength, mind reading, talk to animals, etc. - Check the post "Why Your OC Might Need Adjustments" in my "Cipher Info" collection before submiting your OC 🙇‍♀️ There I explain the 3 main points a Cipher OC needs to check to be accepted. As a resume: human, power, drawbacks. - Before creating your OC pls check to see if no one has a similar power yet. If there's a lot of entries by the time you join (like more than 20) I can accept similar powers but pls try to be unique 💕 - Your OC's power needs a drawback, like "power can only work if they say a magic word", "power can only work if both hands are free" or "power can only work if they're always hot", etc. - Your OC can be female, male or non-binary. The uniform is the same for everyone (in case you can't see it clearly, those are pants) and you can mix and match longer and shorter options; also you can give them different shoes, but they need to be as comfy and resistant as these bc they'll be using them to train - Accessories like gloves, earings, bags, etc. are allowed and your OC can wear them with the uniform, so long as it's nothing that changes the appearence of the actual clothes - There's no deadline but if a bunch of people seem interested in this I'll create new challenges for you to draw you Cipher OC in!! ✨😎🌈🎶🍓🌸 (Correction: THANK YOU FOR ALL THE LUV!! Vivi (Cipher Academy)I’ve been wanting to join Cipher Academy pretty much since it started but I’m only now getting around to it lol

This is Vivian aka Vivi!! She’s a beginner, probably in her very first year considering she has very little control over her power. She’s fairly outgoing and expressive. She has fun with her outfits, though the Mary Jane shoes will probably have to go away once a teacher realizes she’s wearing them (though she’ll probably wear sneakers for like a week before going back to them and hoping no one notices).

Now for her power! Essentially Vivian can absorb the physical force (energy) of attacks. So, in theory, if someone punches her, she would absorb the energy from it and not get hurt. However, if she isn’t bracing for it, she absorbs very little and gets hurt anyways. Even when she does prepare, she isn’t the best at controlling her power so she never absorbs all the energy of an attack. And since her power only absorbs the physical force of the attack, if she was hit by a fireball or something magical, there’s not much her power can do about that besides stopping her from being pushed back from the force of it.

So what happens to the energy Vivian absorbs? Well, she can redistribute it back into the world, but she isn’t very good at this, so it just ends up exploding whatever she puts the energy into. This can actually end up pretty badly depending on the size of the object and how much energy she has saved up. Also, her power doesn’t give her protection from the blasts, so she can still be injured by them herself.

She first discovered her power by accidentally blowing up a bottle of milk while she was trying to drink it, leaving her very confused (this is the mini comic thing on the right of the drawing). Luckily she didn’t have too much energy stored up, so she was mostly fine. Up until that point, she had been passively absorbing energy pretty much all her life, but in very, very small amounts since she hadn’t known about her ability and didn’t know how to absorb more from physical impacts.
While Vivian’s power itself doesn’t have a limit on how much energy she can absorb, there is an amount where Vivian has trouble containing it and might accidentally blow something up with a slight touch. She usually doesn’t hit that point, though.

So yeah!! That’s Vivian!!! I have a lot of challenges to catch up on if she gets accepted
