Challege submission 1/2 - Black Forest Cherry CakeI made two submissions for this challenge (I have an idea for a third but I'm not sure if I'll do it)
This is Black Forest Cherry Cake, one of my personal favorite cakes.
Her design is partially based on the traditional dress and hats of the black forest area, where the cake originated. Their hats have these big red pompoms on top which I translated into cherries. The top part of dress can vary but is still inspired in this piece. Of course the skirt of the dress is intended to resemble the layers of cake, cake and cream, with the red orbs resembling the cherries that are in between the layers as well. She was a lot of fun, but if I had to do those ruffles by hand (I used a brush) this may have never been finished haha
