Jeans alteration
Altered a pair of jeans a bit ago.First time going all the way and detatching a waistband for something like this and it went well.
- seam ripped part of the waistband off
- detatched the belt loops in that section
- re-sized the waistband with a cut
- pleated the pant fabric to fit the new waistband width
- re-sized the small inset pocket for it to not pucker
- reattached everything with turned edges for a cleaner finish
- tacked down any folds that resulted in the pant fabric further down to avoid weird rippling
- made weird thread color choices (red thread and visible stitching where I could have gone invisible but now I'm too lauy to change it)
- did all of that by handsewing, thick jeans fabric is not fun
- cut and re-hemmed the bottom leg seams cause it was too long
Now I have really wide leg jeans
