'If you cannot please everyone with your actions and your art, you should satisfy a few. To please many is awful.' -Friedrich Schiller

That’s the opening line on the artwork “Nuda Veritas” which inspired this artwork with my Oc Katashi. The “Nuda Veritas” is a work by Gustav Klimt made in 1899 with the oil on canvas. The Vienna of the last years of the nineteenth century was a decadent Vienna that suffered from the hypocritical Victorian repression. During this period Klimt's art for its eroticism and its often too explicit themes, often met with a lot of refusals. Because of these restrictions many artists felt the need for a radical change that led to the so-called Viennese Secession: an association of 19 artists, including painters and architects, who break away from the Academy of Fine Arts going against traditionalism to conservatism and to academicism to form an autonomous group with its own independence and also its own headquarters, the Secession Building.

The Viennese Secession, especially in painting, did not seek to break with the art of the past, but rather sought to create a new Austrian art that responded to the cultural, political and social needs of the time. In particular, it was from 1907 that a new conception of figurative art emerged among painters, starting from the research of the master Gustav Klimt and then following with his followers such as Egon Schiele and Oskar Kokoschka.
