#JuneforJesus!

Psalms 37:11
"But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace."

Bonus!
Matthew 5:5
"Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth."

"The meek shall inherit the earth" is notably mentioned twice, which shows how important Meekness is to the Lord. I admittedly had to look up the definition of Meekness and I got "Strength under Control." So the way I interpret that is having power over something or someone, and choosing not to use it for the sake of others. Take Superman for example, he has the unstoppable power to rule the planet with an iron fist, yet he restrains himself to protect the planet and those in it. God has the power to wipe out all of humanity yet he doesn't for that is the promise he made to Abraham and his children, and every child after him who believes in Jesus Christ (that's you! :D)

He wanted to destroy the world in the days of Noah but because of Noah's obedience and faith he was chosen to survive the destruction along with his family and a handful of every animal.

Last verse I promise!

"Matthew 11:29*
"Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls."

I know this was a lot longer than usual but I gotta get this out XD God's got me today and I hope someone reading this really needed to hear it! I learned something new today :3 that's why I love this challenge!

Ok, ok, Fruit now :D
I "picked" the humble Kiwi today because, well idk lol. The Kiwi fruit shares it's name with the very similar Kiwi Bird, and I find that cute!

I had heard once that the meaning of either the word that is translated as meekness in the Bible, or the word that our word meekness is derived from (I don't remember which) has to do with those who are armed and skilled to use their weapon sword, presumably), but have the good judgment and self discipline to know when to keep it sheathed. That's exemplified in the gospels when the often mercurial Peter pulls his sword and cuts off Malchus' ear thinking that he's defending Jesus, only to have Jesus tell him to put his sword away. Jesus knew the bigger picture, though we know He had the power to spare Himself the agony of the cross at any time. He exercised more control than probably any of us could ever be capable of. Because, as the saying goes, it wasn't the nails that held Him on the cross; it was love.
I'm about to fall asleep, so remind me to comment on this tomorrow. Also, I love reading your thoughts. Please don't apologize for sharing them 🙃
