Lossing Sanity
one situation let to ravyn lossing his mindâŚ.. and his not very good understanding on how a fear soultrait works made him assume the worseâŚ
read it down below :)
Blood slid down the edge of Ravynâs weapon, thick and slow, gathering at the tip before falling⌠drop⌠by drop⌠by dropâŚâ¨Someone had attacked him. They meant to kill him. He had no choice. She didnât want to die.â¨So she fought back.â¨So why did it feel like something inside her had woken up?â¨Ravyn stumbled into her room and slammed the door behind her, breath ripping out of her lungs in harsh, uneven gasps. Her hands shook violently as the weapon slipped from her grip, clattering across the floor and skidding to a stop.â¨The blade caught the lightâ¨Red.â¨Too much red.â¨she backed away from it as if it might move on its own.
âI⌠I had toâŚâ
she whispered, voice thin and breaking.
âThey would have killed me⌠I had toâŚâ
But her eyes kept drifting back to the weapon. To the blood. To the proof.â¨Her stomach churned.â¨Something twisted in his chest. not pride, not relief, not even shock.â¨Horror.â¨Pure, suffocating horror.â¨His gaze snagged on his reflection in a dark window across the room.â¨she froze.â¨Her eyes.....â¨They werenât right.â¨They werenât green anymore.â¨The soft green with that faint pink gradient sheâd always had was almost gone, swallowed up by a violent, unnatural pink that filled nearly the entire iris. Only a thin, fragile ring of green clung to the edges, like it was being drowned⌠like it was losing a fight it could never win.â¨The pink was too bright. Too alive. Too wrong.â¨she stumbled forward, hands bracing against the wall as he leaned closer, shaking.
âNo⌠no, no, noâŚâ
Her breath fogged the glass, but she wiped it away frantically, desperate to make sure she was seeing it right.â¨The pink didnât fade.â¨If anything, it looked deeper.â¨Hungrier....yet Fearfull....pink.....THE COLOR OF FEAR
âWhatâs happening to meâŚ?â
he whispered, voice cracking into something small and terrified.â¨The memory hit him again â the moment the blade sank in, the rush that flooded his veins, the sickening thrill that had burned through her body like lightningâ¨she gagged.â¨A sob tore out of her.
âWHY DID IT FEEL GOOD?!â
Her hands flew to his head, Claws digging into her hair hard enough to hurt, as if pain might anchor her, might keep her from slipping further into whatever this was.
âI shouldnât have liked that! I shouldnât have- I shouldnât have-â
Her voice dissolved into broken gasps.
âI donât want this⌠I donât want thisâŚâ
Her knees hit the floor with a dull thud. she barely noticed.â¨Tears streamed down her face, blurring everything into streaks of color, but the pink in her reflection still burned through the haze. It felt like it was staring back at her. Not just reflecting him.â¨Watching.
âIâm scaredâŚâ
she choked, the admission slipping out before she could stop it. âIâm so scaredâŚââ¨Her body shook violently now, every muscle trembling like she was freezing.
âThey attacked me⌠I just defended myself⌠so why does it feel like I did something worse? Why does it feel like something in me liked it?!â
Her gaze slid, against her will, back toward the weapon.â¨Still there.â¨Still red.â¨she recoiled instantly, scrambling backward until her shoulders hit the wall.
âNoâ no, donât look at it, donât look at it-â
But she just couldnât stop.â¨Because part of her wanted to.â¨That realization hit harder than anything else.â¨A broken, animal sound tore from her throat as she curled in on himself, arms wrapping around her head like she could hide inside her own body.
âI donât want to become this⌠I donât want to become a monsterâŚâ
Her Claws dragged against his scalp as if she could claw the feeling out, dig out whatever had changed inside her.â¨Her vision blurred again, tears spilling faster, dripping onto the floor, onto her shaking hands.
ââŚwhy did it feel so goodâŚ?â
she whispered hoarsely, like the question itself was poison.â¨No answer came.â¨Only the sound of her ragged breathing.â¨Only the slow drip of blood from the discarded weapon.â¨Only the reflection in the dark glass eyes glowing an overwhelming, unnatural pink, the last fragile traces of green nearly erased, like the person she used to be was being consumed right in front of her.â¨Ravyn squeezed her eyes shut, shaking her head over and over like he could will it away.
âPlease⌠make it stop⌠pleaseâŚâ
But even with her eyes closed, the color burned behind her eyelids.â¨Waiting.â¨Growing.â¨And she had never felt so helpless⌠or so afraid of herself.â¨She would never truly recover from this would she?
