SeamsterThis took me a ridiculous amount of time to finish! For some reason i managed to finish the lineart earlier this month, but procrasinated on coloring it until last sunday haha!
This was very fun despite that, and creating a character & lore for @chriSpy3 's challenge was super entertaining!
-------------------------------
This is Seamster, and alien lad who works as a sailmaker! He fixes the sails and anything in need of patching up, whether it be fabric or plates of metal!
His species cannot survive on oxygen, hence his cloudy helmet on the left! He wears it while he's on the ship, and takes it off when they depart from it.
While on his home planet, his species possess near indestructable skin and hair; however, when they leave it's atmosphere, their skin becomes less pigmented and easily breakable (sometimes it needs to be stitched, as shown on his design!). However, their hair continues to keep it's indestructable properties!
This is why Seamster uses strands of his hair as threads to bind sails and clothes togather! His species also communicates by making shapes out of strings, threads and hair, so his real name is that shape in the bottom right corner! It's his first time travelling with a mostly all-verbal crew, so while he can read, he is still learning proper speech
I hope all this fits within the space pirate lore, it was so fun to come up with!

Final round, Maxten's log on Seamster: "As the mad gunner . . . and being a dork as Moss puts it, my cloak gets messed up frequently. Forest patches it up from time-to-time, but it never really lasts. With Seamster on board, most of my cloak is nearly fully sewn. I still go to Forest for quick patches, but it ain't the subject here. Seamster isn't to good at communicatin' yet, so I use my art to talk with 'em! He seems to enjoy my way of communicating & my art, so it's a 2 for one! I tend to stop by to see if he needs help, and it's nice to chill with him. Somethin' I find funny is he tries to sew my burnt tail with fabric: it pinches, but I let him know that . . . actually, I wonder what it'll look like." As for me, I love the look of the character: the sewing on the skin & the look is chefs kiss

โขoooo i love him! his design and lore are so good!

is there a limit to how much hair he can use as thread or can he just sew as much as he pleases?
