FishBait!: Make a Fish Contest!

on this day, the first ever fishbait comic was published on 2025, making it exactly one year ago! and to celebrate, i'm hosting a contest!

what to do:

make a character for the fishbait universe! you can choose any species for your oc! however, since this comic takes place in the pacific ocean, it would be preferable if you made your oc a species that lives there! of course, this is not a requirement!

can i make a character that isn't a fish?

yes! your oc can be any marine animal, not just fish! as long as the species spends a good majority of its life near water (ex. seals, polar bears), it counts! you can even make your oc a sea monster like beau, or even a human that lives in the city of sunny day cove!

the deadline is from 8/5 to 8/31, so you have plenty of time!

rewards:

first place: a drawing with detailed shading of your created oc OR another oc you have + your created oc shows up in a future strip! (with credit ofc, if you don't want me to include them let me know!)

second place: a regularly rendered drawing (like in my usual artworks) of your created oc OR another oc you have

third place: a chibi drawing of your created oc OR another oc you have

i will also be hosting this contest on unvale, so i'll be picking entries from both there and here!

when submitting your entry, use the hashtags #fishbaitmakeafishcontest and/or #makeafishcontest, and tag me!
