T6 (Re-mechanized)A couple years ago I drew my cyborg-sona
(yep. That's my term. I own it) T6, which I based loosely. off of the famous Arnold Schwarzenegger Terminator series of movies. And while I liked the idea (and even the completely goofy lore that I wrote for him), the drawing just fell flat. For a long time, I had the thought that I should redraw him borrowing more from the ridiculous but cool-looking Prototype Jack robot from the Tekken video games. So that's where I began, using the idea of abandoning organic flesh covering him, because this is a visual medium, and having him look mechanical is just better aesthetically. So I gave him essentially chrome-colored metal "skin" in the style of Prototype Jack, but smoothed it out a little. That gave him Colossus vibes, which was unintentional but I'm not mad at it. He's got a couple exposed wire bundles, running through his upper arms and neck, which looks a little low-tech against the smooth lines of his arms and head, but again, makes him look a little more mechanized. The torso design I borrowed loosely from another robot image (I think it was one of the subsequent Jack robots from the Tekken games). I kept his Terminator shades (though in fairness, Prototype Jack also wears shades. Now, Terminator wears leather pants, and Prototype Jack wears combat fatigues, but T6 wears jeans. Why? For the same reason that he's bald but absurdly has a white beard. Because he's MY cyborg-sona, so he gets that look from me.
This was so much fun to draw, and it turned out better than I could ever have hoped. I was really nervous about getting the silver/chrome exterior to look decent, but while it's not perfect, I love the way it looks. By the way, the day I create a perfect drawing, I'm giving all my supplies away and hanging it up
Anyway, I like this version of T6 so much that I'm gonna create companions for him to start a superhero alliance. I already know who the first one will be; a redesign of another OC. Which one? Well, you'll just have to wonder about that
