Mamaâlawo
This piece is the third part of my worldbuilding project surrounding the kingdom of Ndegebantu. This construct is an effigy to the sovereign of the Kingdom, Mamaâláwo.This costume that this character wears daily mirrors the Beninese Eggun: costumes worn by priests during performances embodying the spirits of the dead.
Mamaâláwo not only embodies the people of the kingdom, past and future, but also Ndegebantu's reigning deity, Ọya, Orisha of winds.
As the high priestess of this world, she rules over all winds as well as all magicSep 28, 2026
