Read on if you are familiar or curious about the concept of “vent art”
Anyway i been through way too much and i think this is the first time ive vented this way in like almost 9 years. Its like, starting out it was such a good way to channel emotion but its not healthy for that to be your only way of maintaining your stability. I think It can be really damaging especially for younger people to take up “vent art” the fact simply is, if you’re practicing art and all you’re drawing is the edgy stuff, the Plateau of say like “yay im happy with my art” might not be that happy of an experience for you because of the subliminal negativity you might associate with art like that. You dont wanna have the only thing you draw be the dark stuff, even though thats sometimes the most comforting artistic approach, it can get you stuck in this kind of negative thinking loop. so make sure you take time to move on to lighter subjects, especially if in your own mind you tend to think negatively, sometimes darker images, even if its you producing them, can contribute to a negative mood. after all, is the beauty of the piece not better appreciated with proper use of contrast?Sep 10, 2024
