This is a headcanon i've come up with for my AU.
Basically, Ingo ALWAYS jumps a bit whenever Ai greets him by surprise during their one on one hangouts whenever she's free. But the thing is he never flinched at unexpected interactions from behind. With Ai he overthinks and is nervous meeting up with her every time, due to his crush on her. So he gets lost in thought and doesn't take her presence at all.
This is a little charade that kept going even YEARS later when Ai returned to Unova after faking her death. Even when they've started to date.
Ai is 18 here and Ingo is 21
